Winning Moves launches new Roald Dahl Monopoly set

Published on: 9th March 2018

The game is set for release on March 12th, following the success of Roald Dahl Top Trumps which was launched in 2017.

Developed in collaboration with the Roald Dahl Story Company, and featuring Sir Quentin Blake’s illustrations, the Monopoly game sees players choosing one of six brand new tokens to play with – Matilda’s books, James’s Giant Peach, Mr Fox’s chicken, George’s Marvellous Medicine, a Wonka candy, or a little boy turned into a mouse. The gameplay celebrates Roald Dahl’s imagination with iconic locations and artefacts from the stories.

In making the announcement, Stephanie Griggs, licensing and design director at the Roald Dahl Story Company commented, “We are delighted to have partnered with Winning Moves to create the first Roald Dahl Monopoly. It features a whole host of characters and locations from Roald Dahl’s stories and it’s truly been a dream to work on. We’ve got our figglers crossed that consumers will love it as much as we do!”

Hannah Sweeney, head of brand partnerships for Winning Moves added, “The iconic characters and stories of the Roald Dahl world make it the perfect fit for Monopoly and we are certain that Roald Dahl fans of all ages will be delighted with the game.”

Roald Dahl remains the World’s Number One Storyteller; his stories are available in 60 languages and he is estimated to have sold more than 250m books, while Monopoly – a registered trademark of Hasbro Inc – has been published in more than 47 languages and sold in over 114 countries.
