Toy World has learned that the next steps of Mothercare’s transformation and growth programme will involve process and organisational changes at many of its offices across the UK and Asia.

Some of these changes could result in a reduction in the number of roles available, however, the company has said that it aims to minimise job losses as far as possible.

A Mothercare spokesperson confirmed that Mothercare CEO Simon Calver yesterday “held a business update regarding Mothercare’s transformation and growth plan”, and that “part of this work involves an organisational review”. The spokesperson added that the company would refrain from further comment until the results of the review had been “communicated to [its] colleagues within Mothercare and Early Learning Centre”.

Toy World will report on the results in due course.
