The list won’t come as a surprise to many, with perennially best-selling brands from household names topping the list and proving their festival appeal once again.
The NPD Group has revealed the top 10 best-selling toys in the last reported week of sales data it will publish pre-Christmas, the all-important season for the toy sector.
Melissa Symonds, executive director of Toys, UK concludes: “In the second week of December, our sales figures show that consumers chose fun and innovative toys for kids, ‘kidults’ and adults of all age ranges. The top sellers range from the newest offerings from fashion dolls Barbie and L.O.L. Surprise! to the latest unboxing item, My Magic Mixies, which will add some smoke and magic to gift opening on Christmas morning. Board games are perennial favourites every Christmas as families and friends look to spend quality time together. This year best sellers include an updated classic, the Pictionary Air Game, and the second edition of the Logo Game. So far in December, the sales figures are suggesting that when it comes to toys, it’s fun, imagination and innovation that are driving sales.”
