All 65 episodes of Olly the Little White Van are now scheduled for year-round appearances on Channel 5’s pre-school timetable. The episodes are often in the top five (and number two in one month) of pre-school shows and the audience figures continue to grow. And with the programming secured for the next three years, Olly’s creators at Ideas at Work are planning 26 x 5’ brand new episodes for 2015.
Also in the UK and Ireland, all five seasons of the show can be seen daily on Cartoonito and Boomerang, plus monthly in Toddler Club cinemas, while Ireland’s channel TG4 will soon be showing the very latest episodes that make up Season 5, in Gaelic.
Henry Becket, Olly’s creator, commented: “It’s been quite a hard slog getting here, but it’s now becoming a very exciting time for Olly the Little White Van. There is no doubt that he has become a pre-school favourite in the UK and this popularity is being echoed in many other territories. We currently have Japanese, Turkish and Russian versions in production to add to over a dozen foreign language versions already available.
“Our aim is to now to move forward with new master toy partners bringing further ways for the huge fan base to enjoy Olly and all the characters from the show. Olly and his friends are incredibly toy-etic and appeal to both boys and girls aged 3-5. Our research and the amazing online reactions we are getting suggests that parents and the children are crying out for more ways to experience the fun that the programmes bring to them every day.”
