Orchard Toys shakes up marketing department

Published on: 7th February 2013

Orchard Toys has appointed Alison Brown as its new marketing manager.

Ali is due to start with the company on Tuesday 5th March in preparation for taking over the reins from Lynda Freebrey, the current marketing/PR manager, when she retires at the end of April.

Lynda, who has been with the company for five and a half years, said: “I am thrilled that Ali will be taking over from me when I retire, we couldn’t have found a better person for the job.”

Ali comes from The Line (previously Turton Middleton), where she worked for a range of business to business and business to consumer clients since 2007. Prior to that she was in the marketing department at Virgin Money, and before that, seven years at Fox Murphy (now Balloon Dog), where she worked on a number of client accounts and was dedicated to Disney on Ice for her last four years there. She worked as the UK agent coordinating and managing the UK above and below the line advertising campaign, whilst working closely with regional PR managers to deliver campaigns for the touring show.

Ali commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Orchard Toys, a brand with such meaningful and ethical practices whom I have always admired. I’m looking forward to being part of the team and to help continue the momentum of their recent successes and company growth.”

Simon Newbery, MD at Orchard Toys, added: “We are so pleased to have secured the services of a professional with such an excellent track record. On a personal level, we know Ali well as she was our account manager when our marketing was handled by Turton Middleton. I have absolutely no doubt that she is an excellent choice and will fit seamlessly into our team.”
