BBC’s Go Jetters support outdoor classroom day

BBC Worldwide’s Go Jetters form new partnership with Project Dirt.

Go JettersThis new partnership will help reach more teachers around the world and encourage them to take children outdoors to explore and discover their environment. They will have access to Go Jetters themed resources and asset packs, utilising the Funky Facts and brilliant geography topics which are core to the DNA of the leading CBeebies show.

Outdoor Classroom Day, coming up on 18th May, is a global initiative to inspire schools everywhere to make outdoor learning and play and part of everyday activity. The campaign, which started with a few schools in the UK and this year plans to reach one million children in 60 countries globally, brings together schools across the world. To get involved, schools simply take at least one lesson outdoors and prioritise playtime.

Commissioned by CBeebies controller Kay Benbow and BBC Worldwide director of children’s content Henrietta Hurford-Jones, Go Jetters follows heroes Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz, as they travel the world with their teacher, mentor and friend, Ubercorn, a disco-dancing unicorn righting the wrongs of the mischievous Grand Master Glitch.

Nancy Twynam, head of marketing consumer products BBC Worldwide UK, commented: “With the themes of Geography, Exploration and Adventure at the core of the Go Jetters brand we jumped at the opportunity of partnering with Project Dirt and supporting Outdoor Classroom Day. We are delighted that Go Jetters will be providing learning resources for teachers and inspiration for little learners on such an exciting school day.”

Go Jetters has become a huge hit with boys and girls across the globe, with the first series selling to over 90 territories and a second series of the animation now in production. In the UK, Go Jetters was ranked number one for its pre-school launch on CBeebies in 2015 and has since reached a cumulative audience of 10 million viewers on linear television. New episodes on CBeebies in February 2017 peaked with 630,500 viewers.
