Parragon secures Matt Hatter publishing rights

Parragon Books has partnered with Platinum Films on its brand Matt Hatter Chronicles.Parrragon_story

The signing adds to a line-up of global licensees and complements Penguin Books’ novelisation publishing programme in English speaking territories worldwide which launched last August with the first two titles in a series of graphic novels following the adventures of the popular schoolboy hero.

Parragon will create a range of Matt Hatter activity titles that will include Magical Storybooks, Ultimate Fan Book, Sticker Scenes, Bumper Colouring Books and Activity Books with puzzles and games and interactive 3D sections for Australia, UK and South Africa in 2015.

Paul Gregory, chief operating officer at Parragon Books, said: “Nigel Stone and I had an initial meeting at the Licensing Show in Vegas last year and it was clear to me that Matt Hatter was a special character and one that will stand out in a crowded licence market. We were all very encouraged by the enthusiasm shown by the Platinum team as well as their long term development plans. I am subsequently very confident that Parragon’s unique and exciting formats will complement the character, excite the consumer and help establish Matt Hatter as an evergreen franchise.”
