Paw Patrol Little Heroes Paw Awards honour eight deserving kids

Published on: 25th October 2019

Entries were up 150% for this year’s awards, which were held at The Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge.

Spin Master UK is celebrating the culmination of its second year of running the Paw Patrol Little Heroes Paw Awards.

The awards – each based on the heroic pups from the Nick Jr. TV animation produced by Spin Master Entertainment – champion children who deserve to be recognised for the challenges they have faced and how they have touched the lives of others. With a host of new partners on board, including the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and Hamleys, the 2019 Awards launched in the spring, inviting nominations from parents and carers around the UK.

The entries ran into hundreds, seeing an increase of over 150% for year two, making the task of judging the entries challenging for the eight-strong panel of judges. The panel included representatives from Spin Master, Nickelodeon, Hamleys and Rainbow Productions, as well as kid’s TV presenter Nigel Clarke.

The eight winners were invited to London and presented with their awards at an exclusive ceremony generously hosted by The Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, where they enjoyed a two-night luxury stay.

During the ceremony, the children received their trophies, medals and certificates from Nigel Clarke and Naomi Wilkinson. The two-hour celebration included treats such as face painting and balloon modelling, and all the children joined in party games including the Pup Pup Boogie with two of their favourite Pups from the show.

They were then invited to an exclusive VIP shopping event at Hamleys toy store in Regent Street, where they met more Paw Patrol characters and stars who turned out to help celebrate the children’s achievements.

Jo Thompson from Spin Master, who devised and organised the awards with Fosbury PR and Gemma Gallagher, commented: “It was such a privilege meeting all the winners and their wonderful families and a joy to see all the children having so much fun. We want to thank all of our amazing sponsors who have been so supportive, including The Park Plaza and their wonderful chefs, Hamleys and their entertainment team, as well as Nickelodeon, Rainbow, Gloworm, Amscan and Finsbury Cakes, which helped us create the fabulous prizes, parties and games.“

Charlotte Yates, marketing manager at Spin Master UK and one of the judges, said: “We’re thrilled at the success of the awards; it’s incredibly rewarding to be involved in such a positive and uplifting activity. We are already looking forward to the Paw Patrol Little Heroes Paw Awards 2020, and doing it all over again.”

Daniel Thompson from Nickelodeon, who was also on the judging panel, added: “We want to thank everyone for taking the time to write about all their Little Heroes because every single one of the entries was special – we would have loved for everyone to win.”
