Peppa Pig stays as the No.1 pre-school licence

Pepper Pig retains her crown

Entertainment One’s pre-school license Pepper Pig has kept the position as the number one pre-school toy license for the second year running, NPD data has confirmed. The figures were based on total sales of licensed toys for 12 months from 2010 to 2011.

Entertainment One have reported that DVD sales were over 5 million units in 2011 making it the number one pre-school license in the kids DVD charts. Further episodes have planned to be added to the TV series.

Additionally, publishing partner Ladybird have reported sales figures which have Peppa Pig as the number one pre-school publishing license.

Andrew Carley, Head of Licensing at Entertainment One says: “Peppa Pig holding the No 1 spot for total pre-school licensed toy sales is proof that the brand continues to dominate the pre-school market in the UK and is as popular as ever. With new international partners due to rollout in 2012, the potential of the brand overseas has yet to be realised and we’re extremely excited about what the future holds for Peppa Pig.”
