Published on: 20th March 2019

Entertainment One’s pre-school animated series will make its debut on FTA broadcaster CCTV from 21st March.

The first season of PJ Masks (52 x 11min) will launch on CCTV14, CCTV’s children’s channel, marking the first time that PJ Masks will appear on broadcast television in China. The series was previously only available in the territory on SVOD platforms. Scheduled to air daily from midday to 1pm with four episodes shown back to back, the series is set to pull in even more viewers with its winning combination of heroic stories, strong values and colourful animation.

In addition to the broadcast, fans can also access a host of content including interactive games and activities at the official PJ Masks WeChat account (ID: shuiyixiaoyingxiong). To celebrate the CCTV14 launch, a special pack of WeChat stickers is being released for fans to enjoy and share.

“Securing broadcast for PJ Masks on China’s leading children’s channel will boost viewership and awareness for the property significantly when it launches this month,” said eOne’s Monica Candiani, EVP content sales, Family & Brands. “We’re committed to becoming a leading supplier of high quality children’s entertainment in China, and the increased exposure will help us put down roots that will secure the future of PJ Masks for many years to come.”

To fuel fan engagement alongside the increased viewership, eOne has a calendar of nationwide PJ Masks events and activities planned that will bring the brand to venues across the region. Meanwhile, the brand’s toy partner Alpha has plans to release brand new toys and merchandise including remote control cars, sound and light vehicles and a headquarters play set.
