Play Fair sets new dates and locations for 2018 and 2019

Published on: 1st March 2018

Play Fair, the public celebration of play and entertainment for all ages, is going on the road in 2018 and 2019.

Hosted by The Toy Association and LeftField Media, the immersive, experience-rich event has two new dates and locations: Play Fair PDX, co-located within Rose City Comic Con, will take place 7th to 9th September, 2018 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, and Play Fair DC, co-located within Awesome Con, will take place 26-28th April, 2019 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

Kelly Comboni, president of LeftField Media, commented: “Families and attendees had such an overwhelmingly positive response to Play Fair that we decided to bring the joy of play to families in other areas. Building upon the success of other family-friendly pop culture events in the LeftField Media portfolio, we have a strong audience base excited to connect and interact with Play Fair brands and characters.”

At Play Fair’s second annual show, held last November in New York City, more than 20,000 children, parents, families, and fans were able to get a first look at the toys and games expected to top wish lists for the 2017 holiday season. Guests were also treated to dozens of hands-on exhibits, displays, and meet & greets with beloved characters, and engaging activities with favourite brands. The show featured more than 75 exhibitors, including presenting sponsors Spin Master and Toys R Us.

Marian Bossard, The Toy Association’s executive vice president of global market events, commented: “Play Fair has become the go-to consumer show for families to meet and experience beloved playthings, brands, and characters. Building on the success of the show in 2017, we are looking forward to sharing Play Fair with guests across the country.”

In the coming weeks, Play Fair will announce confirmed exhibiting brands, new sponsors, and special entertainment highlights planned for the shows. Visit PlayFairPDX.com and PlayFairDC.com for more information.
