Playmobil has risen to 16th in the UK toy market chart, up eight positions since the end of Q1 2012. The global brand has also risen eight places in the global toy property rankings to 20th since this time last year. Sales were up by 54% in value and 61% in volume in an otherwise flat market.

Top selling toys for Playmobil are the newly launched Police Range, popular Leisure Range and key Pirates-themed toys. Within the Police Range, top sellers are the Helicopter, Police Car, Bank with Safe and Police Special Forces Unit.

Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager for Playmobil UK, commented: “Overall, we’ve had a particularly good first quarter and this year shows all the signs of being very strong, especially for the Police Range. Emergency services have always been a strong performer for us and are popular with children. Little ones love to play the hero and enjoy creating scenarios where they can save the day.”
