In the UK, the promotion will take place across Game’s network of 320 stores and will be supported by Pokémon themed display sections in all stores, showcasing products across Pokémon video games, Trading Card Game and toys from Tomy. The activity will also be supported by a pan-European advertising campaign incorporating cinema, TV and online.
This will take the form of a TV campaign showcasing the Pokémon universe, demonstrating how the Pokémon TCG and video game contents are part of the same world. Promotional spots will air from 3rd April to 19th April on CITV, Cartoon Network and Disney XD amongst other channels.
From 3rd April, players can receive the Shiny Charizard for their Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games for a limited time only. Both the redeemable codes for the Pokémon character and the collector’s album will be made available upon request and while stocks last.
Anthony Cornish, marketing director, The Pokémon Company, said: “Pokémon is currently enjoying massive success in Europe and we are very proud to be working with so many great partners across Europe to bring exciting promotional retail campaigns to as many Pokémon fans as possible. The free Shiny Charizard and Pokémon Trading Card Game Collector’s Album will help drive significant footfall to our retail partners and strengthen brand engagement with Pokémon’s many fans.”
