The UK merchandise roll out has been spearheaded by Spin Master.

Cartoon Network has unveiled The Powerpuff Girls Story Maker app, which launches across the UK and EMEA this week.

The app allows kids and their parents to create and animate scenes involving their favourite heroes and villains from the series. Once the scene is set and fully decorated with items from The Powerpuff Girls universe, kids can choose to record their voice and narrate over their bespoke animation to add a personal touch to their story. The stories can then be saved to and watched later or shared with friends and family via email.

A marketing strategy for The Powerpuff Girls is also driving brand awareness and fan engagement. A cinema ad featuring the Spin Master toy range will debut in the UK in front of new theatrical releases such as Beauty and the Beast. A Facebook campaign targeted at mums with daughters has been driving strong click-throughs to Argos and the Entertainer. Following Cartoon Network’s recent partnership with YouTube influencer Tiana from Toys And Me, a video showcasing Spin Master’s new toy range has now amassed over 480k views.

The UK merchandise roll-out was spearheaded in January 2017 by partner Spin Master who began launching its range with major UK retailers. The Powerpuff Girls licensing programme will expand in May 2017 as products will launch in the publishing, fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, FMCG and back-to-school categories.

The Powerpuff Girls airs every day at 7:45pm on Cartoon Network.
