Rainbow Designs brings Peppa Pig to nursery sector

Published on: 2nd April 2014

Entertainment One has announced a partnership with Rainbow Designs that will mark Peppa Pig’s entrance into the nursery sector this year.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Rainbow Designs will produce a range including rattles and teethers, comfort blankets, puppets, mobiles, push and pull toys, baby gyms, play mats, stacking rings, detachable buggy toys, skittles, bookends, coat hooks, height charts, developmental toys and gift sets.

A small collection will debut at retail in Spring/Summer 2015 with additional products rolling out through to 2016 as the brand extension develops. The range will be designed in neutral tones and will be targeted through a Channel Specific Strategy to deliver the Peppa Pig nursery opportunity across a wide and varied retail platform.

Anthony Temple, managing director at Rainbow Designs, said: “We are delighted to be on board with the Peppa Pig brand and excited to be working with the Entertainment One team. We have been keen to be involved in the Peppa Pig phenomena for some time and I am pleased that we are now able to put our expertise into building a quality baby and nursery softs programme. We are already well ahead with our product development, the initial S/S 2015 collection is looking fabulous and we are looking forward to launching.”

Hannah Mungo, head of UK Licensing at Entertainment One, added: “The partnership with Rainbow Designs represents a significant development for the Peppa UK licensing programme as we look to extend the brand into the baby arena and explore new retail channels. Our approach to this sector will be very considered in line with our strategy for steady growth in close collaboration with a small number of high calibre partners who share our vision of exploring Peppa’s appeal to babies and toddlers.”
