Marketing Manager – Maternity Cover – 12 month temporary contract

Location: Gatwick, West Sussex

Its state-of-the-art design, manufacturing and animation facilities deliver unparalleled innovation and content to support its toys and licensed products. Its UK office is at Gatwick and currently employs nine people.

The responsibilities:

Category Planning & Strategy:
• Develop & implement category marketing strategy in line with company objectives
• Recommendation of pricing and promotional strategies
• Presentation of category strategy and suggestions to Senior Management Team
• Budget planning and monitoring

Internal Relationship Management:
• Work closely & interact with Alpha International teams across Asia, Europe and US on a daily basis to ensure all brand and product information is received
• Ensure that the Sales team have all relevant brand information and assist with retailer presentations
• Manage the Marketing Team consisting of 1 x Brand Manager
• Ensure that all correct product information appears on the company systems and reports and is communicated to the wider team

External Relationship Management:
• Responsibility for managing the company relationship with our PR & Media agencies
• Work closely with broadcast partners and their marketing teams to promote and build content driven brands.
• Alongside General Manager, help to prepare pitch/proposals to secure UK licences or distribution agreements
• Work closely with the developing 3rd Party Supplier relationships alongside the General Manager

Marketing Strategy & Execution:
• Ensuring effective branded, marketing communications including digital, social media, print and TV
• Identify POS needs, develop briefs for POS, promotions and PR activities to maximise sales performance
• Briefing external agencies on media and advertising production requirements
• Assist with the co-ordination of media approvals
• Briefing exhibition displays for Toy Fair, AIS, Toymaster & Distoy shows, planning & complete implementation

Research & Analysis:
• Track and analyse sales out at retail vs. effectiveness of marketing campaigns and market trends
• Use of sales forecasts and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products

Essential Requirements for the Role:
• Knowledge of product management in a consumer goods industry
• Experience in managing direct reports
• Competent PC skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Full UK Driving Licence
