Red Ribbon Awards recognises Bigjigs Toys

Bigjigs Toys has been chosen as a finalist in the Best Small Family Business category for the national Red Ribbon Awards 2014.

Now in its fifth year, the Red Ribbon Awards are seen as a prestigious accolade for family businesses and winners have included Michel Roux Jr, The Entertainer, The Cambridge Satchel Company and more.

The award ceremony will take place on the 20th June at the Goldsmiths’ Hall in London where five companies in the Best Small Family Business category will be awarded the ‘Commended for Excellence’ award and one successful family business will be crowned the winner.

Bigjigs Toys has been recognised for its achievements and contributions to the toy industry, the high street and also to the local area. The family run business was founded in 1985 from a small shed in Liz and Peter Ireland’s garden, and has since grown to sell toys in over 35 countries worldwide.

Liz Ireland, director, said: “It is always great to receive recognition for your efforts but to be nominated for such a prestigious award is overwhelming! We of course, have to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the business over the years as without them, all this would not be possible.”
