Boy’s action franchise, Redakai, hit the small screen on Cartoon Network this weekend.
Redakai: Conquer the Kairu is an animated kids adventure series, produced by Spin Master and Zodiak Kids/Marathon, starring Ky, a 15-year-old student of ancient martial arts who embarks on an incredible quest to find the Kairu, a primordial alien energy force. Helped by his friends Maya and Boomer, Ky travels the globe looking for the Kairu to protect it from his extraterrestrial teenage opponents, with the hope that one day he will become the greatest Kairu warrior of them all – a Redakai.
The new TV series will initially run on Cartoon Network at weekends from Saturday 7th January at 11.30am and again at 6.30pm. From February half term, the show will also be aired on CN Too at 4.00pm weekdays.
The Redakai toy range launching later this year is described as “a groundbreaking innovation in gaming that takes trading cards to the next level.” Redakai features Blast3D technology that brings characters to life and stackable gameplay that shows the impact of each move as it happens.
Spin Master marketing manager, Stuart Picton, said: “We are very excited about the show which rated strongly in the US and look forward to showing our retail customers the great product range at London Toy Fair (stand E131).”
