The response from retailers has been positive, and the YooHoo brand created by Aurora World has sold 30m units worldwide to date.
The development of a new and fully warmable portfolio of five of the key YooHoo characters offers retailers further depth to the range. Toy retailers in particular have commented on YooHoo and Friends bestseller status in store throughout the year, but the new warmable range created by Intelex will offer them additional depth and focus on the retail shelves for the colder months and particularly at Christmas time.
Intelex’s three year licensing agreement with Aurora to recreate the YooHoo brand to become a fully warmable plush toy offers parents a safe alternative to rubber hot water bottles. The toys are filled with treated millet that is scented with lavender and when warmed in the microwave for only two minutes produces a soothing aroma.
Visitors to the Intelex trade stand at the Harrogate Home and Gift show indicated their support for the new YooHoo. The recommended retail price point of £14.95 will allow retailers to achieve over 50% margin.
Darren Ingram, sales director at Intelex said: “Both old and new retailers have expressed their delight for the heatable YooHoo and Friends range that is available to order now. We’ve had some retailers comment the product is destined to be a massive hit for Christmas. With the volume of pre-orders taken at the Harrogate trade show, it’s been a huge show of positive support for the new YooHoo range and we can’t wait to see it stocked on retailers’ shelves.”
