Rubies appoints Jose Cano as new head of Operations

Jose’s appointment forms part of Rubies’ significant investment in redeveloping the operations side of the business.

From the acquisition of a new warehouse in Northern Europe to overhauling its entire distribution network in order to maintain an industry-leading level of service, Rubies has been making significant investment into the redevelopment of the operations side of business. Jose Antonio Cano who joins as head of Operations for UK & EU, brings with him a wealth of experience in distribution.

Costume company Rubies is well-known to Jose, who previously spent 10 years at IMC Toys, a former Joint Venture Partner in Southern Europe for the business, where he held positions including Global Supply Chain & Purchase director.

Jose has a wealth of experience spanning Warehousing, Purchasing, Logistics and Operations and the role will see him combine them all in order to overview and manage the day-to-day running of operations and logistics across the UK and EU, while simultaneously building on previous growth to increase distribution to new levels for Rubies.

Rubies recently strengthened its sales team with three new hires as it continues to experience unprecedented growth and demand.

Peter Silver has joined the costume company as the new head of Sales, moving from Mattel, where he was senior national account manager.He will be responsible for managing and overseeing the UK sales operation and will be a pivotal force in helping the company achieve and exceed its ambitious growth plans.

New national account controller Robin Dent brings extensive experience of all facets of account management, having worked previously at Hornby as senior national account manager while Claire Barkwith has also joined Rubies as new national account manager for Fashion and Apparel, responsible for managing and growing Rubies national accounts including with major retailers.
