Rubie’s opens stores on Long Island

Published on: 5th October 2015

Rubie’s has opened its first retail stores on New York’s Long Island in time for Halloween.

Rubies-480A flagship store was crafted as part of the company’s existing 70,000 square foot headquarters in Westbury. There is also a sister store based in Melville.

Both stores will feature a haunted house and other interactive exhibits for Halloween. Customers entering the flagship store will be greeted by a 10 foot statue of the Hulk and will see life-sized casts of animatronic characters including a gargoyle, a hooded skeleton rapper and an electric chair.

The specially designed stores offer over 3,000 products, including a large selection of costumes, masks and accessories. Customers will be able to buy comic-book novelties, classic Halloween gimmicks and myriad costumes. The most expensive offering is a 20 foot King Kong replica, which is selling for $50,000.

The stores were designed by Marc Beige, principal of Rubie’s Costume Co, and opened for the first time two weeks ago.

Marc commented: “It’s unlike any retail store you’ve ever seen. It’s an experience.”
