Rubik’s 2016 UK championships set to be the biggest yet

This weekend will see the annual Rubik’s UK Championship return to Bristol.

Rubiks-480The event takes place from 4th to 6th November at The Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, and is set to have the biggest turnout in history, with over 216 competitors already registered.

The weekend will see current UK champion Robert Yau competing against speedcubers from 18 different countries to defend his title. Last year Yau completed the 3×3 cube in just 9.38 seconds, and he will be aiming to repeat his success at this year’s event.

The Rubik’s UK open event consists of a traditional 3×3 competition as well as additional events including 2×2 Rubik’s Cube, 4×4 Rubik’s Cube, 5×5 Rubik’s Cube, 3×3 Rubik’s Cube one handed, 3×3 Rubik’s Cube blindfolded and 4×4 Rubik’s Cube using only your feet.
