The specialist games shop, based in Cardiff, is aiming to host the UK’s largest celebration of International TableTop Day on 30th April.

Rules-of-Play-480The 12-hour event is a celebration of independent games manufacturers and inventors, and will include learn-to-play sessions, games tournaments, independent publisher stalls, inventor signings, demo games, a family-friendly Kids Zone, a VIP area with exclusive gaming tables and more.

“International TableTop Day is a worldwide gaming phenomenon and we’re marking the event with one of the biggest gatherings of board-gamers in the South-West, possibly even the whole of the UK,” said Ian Davis of Rules of Play. “This is a fantastic opportunity for indie games publishers, and new and established inventors to get their games in front of the people that matter: the customers. Companies such as Big Potato, Grublin Games and Tinkerbot Games, who really understand the value of on-the-ground demos and direct interaction with gamers, have already confirmed their presence. We’re really excited about being able to celebrate the established board games everybody loves as well as showcasing the exciting new indie titles that are breaking through into the mainstream and acting as a ‘gateway’ for new gamers. We also hope to welcome along inventors to meet fans of their games, as well as new inventors who can playtest their latest creations with our crowd, gaining valuable feedback and insight.”

Independent games publishers and inventors are invited to get in touch with Rules of Play and find out more about how they can make the most of this event. Contact Ian Davis at 2022 1695 or visit for further details.
