Sainsbury’s opens 300th Argos concession

The latest Argos shop-in-shop opened in Sainsbury’s Salford, marking “important milestone” for the retailer.

The concession has opened in Sainsbury’s Salford store in Manchester, offering the full Argos range of goods including toys, which remains a popular category for the retailer.

Sainsbury’s first installed Argos concessions within stores in 2016. The decision to launch Argos concessions came as Sainsbury’s decision to offer customers the opportunity to browse and purchase over 20,000 technology, home and toy products while picking up their groceries. The offering also gives customers access to Argos’ Fast Track Delivery and Collection in Sainsbury’s stores.

Sainsbury’s said 60% of Argos’s total sales now start online, while 85% of customers choose to collect their goods in-store.

“We are very proud to be celebrating the opening of the 300th Argos store inside Sainsbury’s Salford,” commented James Brown, Sainsbury’s general merchandise & clothing commercial director. “This marks an important milestone in our plan to ensure customers can easily buy everything they need from one single, multi-brand, multi-channel business and is testament to the popularity of the model and the hard work of all our colleagues.”
