Scalextric has announced a three-year global licensing partnership with Star Wars for a range of brand new products on sale early 2012.
Visitors to the London Toy Fair in January will get their first look at Star Wars-themed Micro and Start sets, as well as highly detailed and collectable solo models.
Hornby says with Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace being released in 3D this February, the collaboration with Scalextric will add to an already exciting year for fans of both brands.
Scalextric has taken iconic Star Wars vehicles like the X-Wing and TIE Fighter, plus Speeder Bike and adapted them for slot racing. Different sets for age groups ranging from five years old to adult will be available.
Paul Chandler, marketing manager at Scalextric, commented: “This is a very exciting launch for both Scalextric and Star Wars fans. The new product range will create an exhilarating slot racing experience that everyone will enjoy.”
