Coinciding with the launch of Football Manager 2014 on October 31st 2013 and Football Manager Classic 2014 for PS Vita, launching at a later date, the series has enjoyed good critical and commercial success.
Twelve games in the series are among the UK’s top 20 fastest-selling PC games of all time, while five are in the UK’s Top 20 best-selling PC games list.
Created by UK studio Sports Interactive, part of the Sega group, with the assistance of almost 2,000 researchers across the world, Football Manager is heralded as the most realistic, in-depth and immersive football management title in the games market. The game allows players to take on all aspects of a real-life football manager role, deciding who plays, who stays on the bench and what the team’s tactics should be.
The game has an active and loyal fan base, predominately made up of male football fans, who (on average) devote more than 100 hours per year to their virtual career. The game is sold globally, with a large presence in Europe and strong growth in North America and Brazil, providing opportunities for licensees from around the world.
