Shawn Levy, producer of Night at the Museum and Stranger Things, is working on the project.
A film version of the popular children’s TV show is currently in development.
“Sesame Street is at Warner Bros, and we are right now working on a treatment for what I think is going to be a really imaginative and entertaining take on that beloved and decades-old global brand,” said Shawn, who will be producing the movie. “The trick is to honour these characters that are beloved, but in a movie that feels entertaining for the kids who we might bring to the movie – and humorous for parents who brings their kids.”
He also said that the production is currently in the treatment stage.
There are have been two previous film adaptions, Follow that Big Bird and The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
