Co-produced by CBeebies and Sesame Workshop, The Furchester Hotel is about a close-knit family of Muppet monsters who own and operate an almost-world-class hotel. Starring a new family of monsters, as well as Elmo and the Cookie Monster, the show aims to promote creative problem solving for pre-schoolers. The Furchester Hotel television show launched on Friday 26th September at 5pm on CBeebies.

Penguin will launch its publishing programme under the Ladybird imprint in Summer 2015. The range will be aimed at 3-6-year-olds and include story, activity, character and novelty titles. Richard Haines, acquisitions and new business manager Penguin Children’s, acquired world rights all languages, excluding North America, from Copyright Promotions Licensing Group.

Renee Mascara, vice president, International Media Distribution, Sesame Workshop, said: “The Workshop’s mission is to use the educational power of media to help all children reach their highest potential and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be teaming up with Penguin under the Ladybird imprint to introduce a new family of Muppet characters, along with their furry friends Elmo and Cookie Monster, to the market.”
