Published on: 18th March 2022

Welcome to Squishville is Oscar’s latest musical offering on his YouTube channel, featuring over 35 million views so far.

Oscar is adding yet another single to his growing discography, this time collaborating with Jazwares. The video for his new single, Welcome to Squishville, takes viewers on a journey through the town, where he meets with a selection of Squishmallows favourites. This single follows Oscar’s success on YouTube, where he often collaborates with other celebrated characters. Oscar, the Smyths Toys Superstores animated icon, is signed to Sony Music’s Magic Star label.

Alexandra Painter, Marketing director at Jazwares, said: “This collaboration is a testament to the phenomenal growth in the popularity of Squishmallows. We are thrilled to welcome Oscar to perform in our beloved Squishville.”

This pop-inspired number sees Oscar break out his guitar-playing skills. The song details Oscar’s adventures in Squishville, and his connection to each of his new friends. In the video, Oscar performs Welcome to Squishville in front of a crowd Squishmallows, incuding favourites Cam the Cat, Fifi the Fox and Lola the Unicorn. Oscar cruises around Squishville on a levitating platform, before encouraging the Squishmallows to join him.

Alexandra added: “Welcome to Squishville is an unbelievably catchy pop song from Sony Music that perfectly captures the positive and inclusive values of Squishville by Original Squishmallows. Teamed with the music video, produced by Moonbug Entertainment, Oscar’s new single provides an opportunity for fans to engage with Squishville and the Squishmallows Squad in a whole new way.”

Since his creation by Smyths Toys Superstores in 2016, Oscar has gone on to release a slew of successful singles. His most famous, If I Were a Toy (a reworking of Beyoncé’s If I Were a Boy), was released in 2019. Welcome to Squishville is the latest in a series of singles from the animated singing sensation, and the third in a series of duets and music videos. Previous collaborations include That’s My Crew featuring L.O.L. Surprise!, and Go Own It All, featuring Mr Monopoly.
