Smyths Toys releases 2022 Christmas ad

Published on: 4th November 2022

The 2022 Smyths Toys Superstores Christmas ad is here seeing Oscar interact once more with several of the year’s best toys.

In this much-anticipated ad, Oscar interacts with several of the year’s best toys, giving viewers an inside look into the fun and imagination that these toys will bring this Christmas season. Viewers can watch Ziggy the Robo Dog race through a cafe at Christmas as the theme tune asks ‘Do you really want to go to Smyths Toys Superstores?’

The ad also features appearances from the Slashin’ Attack Therizinosauris from Jurassic World Dominion, who is using his claws for topiary, to shape a snowman. The ad features appearances from Spider-Man, Buzz Lightyear and Minecraft’s Ender Dragon, and Barbie’s Winter Holiday Fun range adds to the festive vibe.

There are appearances from other favourites, like members of the Squishmallows Squad, Kindi Kids and the L.O.L. Surprise! Fashion Dolls. Potterheads can keep an eye out for an appearance from Lego Harry Potter’s 12 Grimmauld Place and some fan-favourite characters, Harry included.

The launch of the brand ad will be supported by an integrated 360 marketing campaign, which will include a YouTube campaign, and social media campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. Smyths Toys Superstores will also work with influencers to boost views and hold competitions.
