Special events for Toy Trust birthday

Published on: 10th February 2012

The Toy Trust celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with a number of special fundraising events to raise £300k for the charity and break the £3million mark raised since the charity’s inception 20 years ago.

The 2012 programme includes:

The Thee Peaks Challenge, taking place on the 6th/7th July, has already received huge support and is now fully subscribed. Ninety Five keen and (hopefully!) fit individuals representing 23 companies from around the industry, have agreed to hike the peaks of Mount Snowdon, Scafel Pike and Ben Nevis over the course of two days, all in aid of the industry’s charity.

A ‘Money Can’t Buy’ auction will be launched in April offering people the chance to bid for 10 distinctive and rare items/experiences.

The annual FUNdraiser- consisting of an alternative costume triathlon and other fun activities- will once again take place at Rutland Water on Friday 22nd June.

Members of the industry and the wider public are encouraged to host their own localised charity event to help raise funds for the Trust. An Events Manual containing guidance on co-ordinating an event can be downloaded from the Toy Trust section of the BTHA website.

For more information on all the events and fundraising activities taking place in 2012 visit the BTHA website or contact Matt Jones on 020 7701 7127/ email

Overall, £180,000 was raised for the Toy Trust in 2011. In a bid to raise £300k in 2012, a great start was made with the annual Media Auction, which concluded at the Toy Industry Awards in January, raising £86,660. Thanks to our media partners for their generous donations and to all those involved in helping to raise money for the Toy Trust over the past year.

Once again a huge thank you and congratulations to Andrew Brown on his world record breaking solo Transatlantic row. There is still time to sponsor Andrew via
