Spin Master expands Ionix Building System

Spin Master’s Ionix construction system is expanding its portfolio to include characters from DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Pokémon.IonixSpinMast300

Ionix construction bricks shapeshift into characters and are fully compatible with other leading construction systems. “Dragons and Pokémon represents the greatest children’s entertainment platforms in the world. Spin Master is thrilled to welcome great characters like Hiccup, Toothless, Pikachu and Squirtle to the Ionix family,” explains James Knight, VP global construction. “We’re extremely excited for these toys to hit the shelves and for kids to see the shapeshifting magic for themselves.”

“DreamWorks Dragons is establishing itself as a year-round, global franchise and Ionix is the latest example of Spin Master’s commitment to creating fantastic lines befitting of these incredible characters and stories,” commented DreamWorks Animation’s global head of consumer products, Michael Connolly.

Ionix will bring iconic Pokémon characters like Pikachu, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, and others to life. “We are thrilled to bring the world of Pokémon to Ionix and the construction category,” said JC Smith, director of consumer marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “Fans will love playing out exciting adventures with their favorite Pokémon characters in an entirely new and innovative way.”

How to Train Your Dragon by Ionix will be available at major retailers in May 2014 and Pokémon by Ionix in October 2014.
