A host of celebrities and their families attended the premiere of the Thomas & Friends feature-length special, King of the Railway, ahead of its release.
The premiere took place at the Vue Cinema in Leicester Square on Sunday 18th August, ahead of the film’s release on DVD on Monday 2nd September 2013.
Charlie Brooks was among the stars, along with Coronation Street’s Charlie Condou, Apprentice finalist Luisa Zissman, politician Lord Howard of Lympne, singing stars Lulu and X Factor contestant Melanie Masson, actors Shelley Con, Samantha Spiro and Adam Godley, Claire Foy with actor partner Stephen Campbell Moore and John Thomson, comedian Mark Watson, musician Julian Lloyd Webber, radio star Harriett Scott and media personality Alicia Douvall.
Mark Moraghan, actor and Thomas & Friends storyteller, also joined The Fat Controller on the blue carpet, and Channel Five Milkshake presenters Jen Pringle, Derek Moran, and Olivia Birchenough were also in attendance.
King of the Railway is Thomas & Friends’ sixth direct-to-DVD special. In this latest animated adventure, two of the world’s most famous trains, Thomas the Tank Engine and Stephenson’s Rocket, join forces. Stephenson’s Rocket has been reproduced in CGI as ‘Stephen’.
Prior to the King of the Railway nationwide release on DVD (2nd September), fans will get the chance to see Thomas on the big screen as 80 Vue cinemas across the country showcase the film for ten days from 23rd August to 1st September.
