SuperAwesome acquires Mind Candy’s PopJam

Published on: 15th September 2015

Digital platform SuperAwesome has acquired PopJam, a social network for children, from Mind Candy, for an undisclosed sum.

Popjam-480PopJam is a mobile-only social platform where children can share content and take part in games and competitions. SuperAwesome CEO Dylan Collins has announced that the company chose to acquire the platform because he believes it will be an important tool when plugged into the SuperAwesome platform. He commented: “One of the biggest challenges in the kids world is how to have a social network that is safe. If you’ve got a brand for kids who are younger than 13 or 14, you just can’t use platforms like YouTube.”

Collins said PopJam currently has a total of monthly users that is high in the hundreds of thousands, but he is aiming to grow its reach by launching in the US and other English-speaking countries.
