Temple Run 2 reaches top chart spot

Published on: 21st January 2013

Temple Run 2 was released for download globally on Thursday January 17th and reached the number one spot within eight hours.

The success of the launch of Temple Run 2 adds to last week’s announcement that a full licensing programme is to be launched in the UK and Eire by Lisle Licensing.

The game had achieved 170 million downloads before the latest version. The new gameplay features introduced in Temple Run 2 now include the ability to use zip lines and ride mine carts, plus four playable characters each with unique, upgradable skills.

Gayle Tarrant, Lisle Licensing, said: “Temple Run as a licensed property will know no bounds for certain sectors and we are already being contacted by many prospective partners keen to be involved. This game is huge, with millions playing worldwide including many celebrities who regularly talk about it on social media. Temple Run was first launched in 2011 and has maintained a high ranking and growing fan base, with further plans in the pipelines for Temple Run in 2013, now is the optimum time to engage with fans eager to expand their experience with categories that go beyond the game.”
