The Entertainer achieves record Christmas

The Entertainer’s like-for-like sales rose 9.5% in the five weeks leading up to 29th December 2012, as the company puts its international expansion plans into action.

The rise in like-for-like sales includes increases of 7.6% from stores and 17.7% from online. Gary Grant said he is “extremely pleased” with The Entertainer’s performance over Christmas.

The Entertainer plans to open 12 UK shops in 2013, and will invest in improving its website, and introduce 90-minute deliveries through Shutl in the first half of 2013. At present The Entertainer is in the process of selecting franchise partners to open the retailer’s first overseas stores.

In the 48 weeks to December 29th, total sales rose 23.4%, and like-for-like sales were up 9.3%.
