The Entertainer’s first ever branch moves to a new home

Published on: 24th August 2012

The Amersham store is hosting a day of free family fun on Saturday 25th August to celebrate.

The store is moving round the corner from its current address in Hill Avenue to a big, bright and modern store on the town’s main shopping street. For the first time, the shop front will match the recognisable blue frontage of other The Entertainer stores.

There will be a grand opening on Saturday, August 25 featuring demonstrations, giveaways and character visits. There will also be a chance to meet Moshi Monster Katsuma, who will be in-store celebrating the launch of Moshi Monsters Moshlings Series Four range.

Gary Grant, founder and owner of The Entertainer, said: “Three decades after opening our first toy shop in Amersham, the town is still at the heart of our business – our head office is based here and the local store is very important to us. We want to make our shop as enjoyable and fun to be in as possible and we hope the new-look store will do exactly that for our Amersham customers.”

The store has been a familiar face in Amersham for more than 30 years since it opened in 1981 as the very first branch of The Entertainer. The company has gone on to become the UK’s largest independent retailer, with 69 stores nationwide and a further 11 in the pipeline.
