The March issue of Toy World is out now

Published on: 2nd March 2023

As well as the latest industry news and opinion, the March issue of Toy World contains comprehensive features on Outdoor Toys, Action Vehicles and Science & Nature Toys.

The March issue of Toy World is out now and available to read either in print or online.

This issue contains substantial product focused features on three major toy categories – Outdoor Toys, Action Vehicles and Science & Nature Toys – in which we’ve compiled a raft of information on the latest launches and what they’re set to bring to retailers (and consumers) nationwide. Each feature opens with an article that takes readers on a deep dive into the category as it stands, examining new and emerging trends with the help of industry specialists as well as asking what suppliers are doing to support their partners in the months ahead.

Assistant editor Sam Giltrow spoke to BargainMax CEO Alex Woolfstein about his promotion, the company’s super-fast website and why more consumers than ever are on the hunt for bargain buys, and editor Rachael Simpson-Jones looks back at another superb Toy Fair UK in our round-up of the UK’s leading toy trade event.

We also spoke to Rosie Marshall, head of Toys & Children’s Gifts at Playroom, the toy buying team at Associated Independent Stores (AIS) – the organiser of the INDX Toy & Gift Show – about what there is to look forward to when the trade event returns to Cranmore Park on the earlier-than-usual dates of 14th -15th March 2023.

In addition to all our regular contributors and opinion pieces, which this issue include The NPD Group, Generation Media, Toy Barnhaus and Rick Derr’s Letter from America, we’re also bringing readers an exclusive Viewpoint from Alison Newstead, specialist legal advisor in Product Safety, Product Liability and Risk partner at Shook Hardy & Bacon International LLP. In this piece, Alison discusses effective proactive steps toy companies can take to manage potential compliance issues.

The Toy World team is now hard at work on the April issue, which will contain features on some of the market’s most successful and competitive categories: Pre-school, Games & Puzzles and Pocket Money Toys & Collectibles.

The deadline for editorial was yesterday (but don’t panic, there’s still time to get involved!), while the deadline for adverts will be 14th March.
