The May issue of Toy World is out now

Published on: 2nd May 2023

The new May issue of Toy World contains all the latest toy industry news and product information, as well as an extensive Toymaster preview.

The 196-page May issue of Toy World is out now and available to read online. This bumper edition contains in-depth category features on Dolls & Collectibles and Wheeled Toys and, if you turn the publication over to the special flip cover, also contains the largest preview of the Toymaster May Show anywhere to help readers prepare for the all-important event.

In the main issue, cover star Mattel celebrates the Year of Dolls, and Lisa McKnight, EVP, Global head of Barbie & Dolls portfolio at Mattel tells us what’s in store for the year ahead. There’s an exclusive interview with Hasbro president EMEA, LATAM & Asia Pacific, Joao Nielsen Sebastian, who speaks to Toy World about the ongoing reinvention at Hasbro.

There’s also a company profile on Zuru, where editor Rachael Simpson-Jones chats to Will Collinson, general manager UK & Ireland, and further articles on P.M.I., Plus-Plus and Zapf. Publisher John Baulch also speaks to Distoy organiser Dave Potter as we round up a selection of companies exhibiting at the event.

The May issue includes all our regular features such as Talking Shop, Circana (formerly NPD) Insight, Letter from America, Marketing Opinion from Gen Media and Allegedly, plus a carefully curated selection of the latest news from the toy industry.

The Toymaster section takes a deep dive into what visitors to the May Show can look forward to this year, with comment from members and exhibitors alike. Extensive company listings detail what will be on show, and readers can find out what makes it such an unmissable event, and how leading suppliers are supporting the indie retail sector this year.

The Toy World team will be out in force at the show, so if you want to chat with any of us, please do drop us a line.

Work is already underway on our June Issue, which will include category features on Arts & Crafts (Creative Play), Infant Toys, and Action Figures & Collectibles. This issue will also have a licensing focus and feature an extended Licensing World section. You can find out more here.
