The October issue of Toy World is out now

Published on: 5th October 2021

The October 2021 issue of Toy World is out now and available to read online, including a dedicated Barbie section.

As well as all the latest on the brand from the team at Mattel, there’s a look at Barbie licensees and what they have to offer.

As the industry prepares itself for BLE, which is poised to kick off on 17th November, this issue is the first of two that will have a major focus on the licensed sector. We spoke to Anna Knight, Informa Markets’ Global Licensing Group VP about what BLE is set to offer visitors this year, and present a handy round-up of the latest Hot Properties and Character Licensed lines. There’s a special brand focus on Silvergate Media’s Octonauts property plus an in-depth interview with HTI’s new licensing manager, Richard Hollis.

In the main body of the issue, we shine the spotlight on Ashley Holman’s new venture ToyTopic, and speak to Ceriann Smith and Lesley Singleton at Playtime PR about the latest developments at the award-winning agency.

There’s a feature on the lines that are ‘oven-ready’ to buy now for Christmas and the return after a summer break of our popular US columnist Rick Derr.

We highlight the BTHA’s latest safety campaign, STILL Toying with Children’s Safety, which has launched this week. (You can read more about that here.)

If that wasn’t enough, we also have our regular features, such as Talking Shop, Allegedly, expert input from the NPD Group, Toy Barnhaus and Generation Media, and all the latest toy and licensing industry news.

Attention now turns to the upcoming November issue of Toy World. This issue will include a feature on Q1 ranges as well as a comprehensive feature on Outdoor Toys, and more information to prepare you for BLE. Companies wanting to get involved in this or any other upcoming issues should contact the team ASAP, but don’t delay on November as we’ll be closing submissions very soon.
