Preparations are well underway for the opening of a new The Range location this Friday, 5th April.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 9am on Friday at the former Homebase site at Apsley Mills Retail Park, and the store will be opened by the Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Dacorum, Councillor Rosie Sutton.
The opening of the Hemel Hempstead store comes during another busy year of growth and expansion for the UK retailer. It opens on the same day as another new store in Glengormley, Belfast and falls during a busy run of eight store openings since the beginning of March, taking the total number of stores in the estate to over 165.
The sudden growth of The Range is a mark of the entrepreneurial leadership of Plymouth-based owner and founder of the firm, Chris Dawson. He began life as a market stall trader across the South West of England before opening his first store in 1989 in Plymouth, under the name CDS (Chris Dawson Superstores) and has grown the company at an impressive rate ever since.
Over 80 full and part-time jobs, from store to department managers, warehouse assistants to retail administrators, will be created in the new store. The retailer is recognised for offering high quality products across 16 departments, at attractive prices. The Hemel Hempstead branch will include a Dee Dee’s Family Cafe, large Patio department and outdoor Garden Centre, and the complete Iceland Foods offering.
Chris Dawson commented: “Each store plays an important part in the success of our company and Hemel Hempstead is no exception. It is great to be able to offer the town a new store to explore following the recent closure of Homebase. There are lots of exciting activities planned for the opening. We hope to have plenty of new customers join us for the celebrations and to discover the fantastic selection of products that we offer.”
