Published on: 20th November 2019

A line-up of international experts will share their thoughts on current issues presented at the Toy Business Forum at the upcoming Spielwarenmesse.

The Toy Business Forum, in the TrendGallery, Hall 3A at Nuremberg, outlines topics directly affecting the toy industry.

At the next Spielwarenmesse, international speakers will bring trade visitors up to speed every day between 1pm and 3pm. Current market developments, future trends in the world of retail and toys, as well as digitalisation and change management, are all on the agenda for 2020. In addition, the LicenseTalks from Wednesday to Saturday will shed light on the licensing business.

On opening day, Reyne Rice will reveal what is new in the world of toys, games and technology for children. She will be followed by Clara Blasco of the AIJU Technological Institute for Children’s Products & Leisure in Spain, who will talk about sustainability. Richard Gottlieb will look at shifts in the toy industry and how to adapt to them successfully.

On Thursday, attention will move to change management. In his talk “Decide for yourself – before others decide for you”, Stefan Hagen, business coach and consultant, will encourage attendees to embrace change. Dr. Dorothea Hartmann of system worx in Munich will share her knowledge on companies undergoing change.

Digitalisation will be Friday’s topic. Mailin Schmelter will evaluate the opportunities and risks of applying digital tools to everyday business practices. Talks by Kevin Proesel of Saint Elmo’s Group in Berlin, and Caroline Zöller will also take place.

On Saturday, the focus will shift to retail. Theresa Schleicher, managing director of VORN Strategy Consulting, will introduce the networked retail trends of tomorrow. Andreas Bork of Finc3 Commerce GmbH and Sandra Schubert will also present.

An overview of current trends and approaches in the world of marketing will feature in Sunday’s presentations. Speakers on the final day of Spielwarenmesse will include Ralf Wendland of servicemeisterei, Dr. Michael Gerharz and Michael Lorenz of consultancy grow.up Management.
