Thomas & Friends launches new Digs & Discoveries specials

Published on: 8th July 2019

Thomas & Friends hosted an exclusive screening event at Drayton Manor Theme Park with Milkshake presenters.

Celebrating the new Thomas & Friends: Digs & Discoveries specials, the brand hosted an exclusive screening event at Drayton Manor, home of Thomas Land, on Saturday 6th July.

Channel 5 Milkshake presenters Kemi Majeks and Derek Moran hosted the event, performing their well-known dance routines from the popular pre-school television show. More than 200 fans including influencers, press and competition winners also enjoyed pre-screening entertainment from The Fat Controller and Rusty and Dusty, before a first look at the new specials as Thomas embarks on his latest global adventure.

The 2 x 22” episodes, All Tracks Lead to Rome and Mines of Mystery, see Thomas discover a new world of wonder as he explores the buried history of Italy. Themed around construction and archaeological digs, new characters including Stefano the Super Cruiser, Brenda the Bulldozer, and engines Gina, Lorenzo and Beppe all help Thomas on his latest adventure.

To bring the specials to life, new characters Gina, Lorenzo and Beppe and Roman Thomas join the Thomas & Friends TrackMaster Motorised engine range, which lets pre-schoolers recreate their favourite scenes.

The Digs & Discoveries specials will be previewed exclusively at the 4D Cinema at Drayton Manor for park guests from 7th to 14th July, and will be launching on DVD in October. Thomas & Friends airs on Milkshake seven days a week.
