TIA names Robert Iger as 2016 inductee into Hall of Fame

Robert Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, was selected due to the impact his work has had on the industry and children worldwide.

Bob-Iger-480Robert joins a roster of 70 toy industry luminaries, including Jim Henson and George Lucas, who have been inducted into the hall since it was established in 1984. The induction ceremony will be held on 12th February in conjunction with the annual Toy of the Year Awards celebration in New York City.

Robert has grown Disney’s portfolio of brands with the acquisition of Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. Always one to embrace new technology, Robert has made Disney an industry leader through its creative content offerings across new and multiple platforms.

“Just about every child around the globe has been touched by the magic of Disney,” said TIA president and CEO, Steve Pasierb. “Robert has done an impressive job of building on Disney’s rich history and growing their storytelling portfolio, creating new experiences and unforgettable memories for generations of kids to come.”
