Tomy announces nationwide Toomies playdates with Smyths

Published on: 18th September 2017

Free playdates to be held at three different Smyths toy stores locations in the UK.

Held at stores in West Sussex, North West London and West Midlands throughout September and October, the Toomies playdates offer young children and parents the chance to play with Toomies toys.

UK child development experts from Fundamentally Children will join Tomy to host the playdates, offering visitors a first look at new releases including Sort & Spin UFO and Mr ShopBot, as well as best-selling bath toy Foam Cone Factory. Each play session runs for 30 minutes, giving customers plenty of time to experience each toy’s features under the expert eye of Fundamentally Children. Attendees at each session will receive balloons and badges, and will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the brand new Toomies characters.

Tomy will also support the playdates with social media giveaways across the Smyths Facebook page.

Nicola Jenkins, head of marketing UK at Tomy Europe, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering again with Smyths & Fundamentally Children on our brand-new initiative of Tomy Toomies playdates, a perfect opportunity to introduce parents and children to the new Toomies brand under the guidance of the leading UK developmental experts.”

“Tomy Toomies is designed to bring together our best-selling toddler and bath products, showcasing our unique characters and reinforce the magic of Hands on Fun. As one of our leading retail partners, Smyths provides a perfect setting to give opportunity for local parents to meet, chat and have fun through play with our best-selling products and brand news products on show.”

Amy Matthews, PR and promotions executive for Smyths Toys Superstores, added: “We are very excited to kick off our series of Toomies playdates with Tomy and support its retail activation.”
