Tonies adds Bing to range for 2022

Published on: 16th March 2021

Pre-school character Bing will join the children’s audio system’s burgeoning portfolio, expanding the possibilities for storytime fun.

Tonies says it is thrilled to announce a partnership with Acamar Films. Bing, from the award-winning pre-school show, will join the company’s impressive portfolio, with the release slated for 2022. The new Bing figurine, when paired with a Toniebox, will deliver brand new entertainment that will engage and delight young children.

Bing joins the existing line up of popular characters which includes Peppa Pig and Disney and Pixar favourites, which represent the most recent additions to the range.

Adapted for television, from the original books by Ted Dewan, Bing celebrates the joyful, messy reality of pre-school life and is broadcast in 130 territories worldwide. The character is represented in a range of award-winning films, books, magazines, apps, consumer products, digital, live shows and cinema experiences.

Liz Peters portfolio manager, Tonies UK, commented: “We love that Bing finds the big stories in the little moments, helping pre-schoolers navigate the everyday challenges they experience. Bing is a firm favourite for little ones across the UK and we are sure that Bingsters and Tonie-fans alike are going to love this addition to our roster.”

Tonies was launched in 2016 by Patric Fassbender and Marcus Stahl and has since replaced CD players or cassette recorders in many children’s rooms nationwide. The intuitive design and combination of figurines, known as Tonies, and a speaker, known as a Toniebox, come together to form a unique interactive audio system for children. Available in six colours, the eye-catching and easily operated cube allows children to take control of their audio adventures; they simply place their chosen Tonie on top of the Toniebox and the content will start playing; when they remove the Tonie, it will stop. The ears on top of the Toniebox can be used to turn the volume up and down. The Toniebox is screen-free, without sharp corners or edges, complicated controls, buttons, discs or cables, making it simple, safe and fun to use for children as young as three years old.
