Tonies introduces new Disney range

Published on: 16th July 2019

The new Disney Tonies include classic songs from The Lion King and The Jungle Book, and will be available to buy from 15th August.

After launching in the UK in 2018, Tonies has announced a range of brand-new Disney characters joining its existing collection. The Lion King and The Jungle Book, the first of the new releases, will launch on 15th August 2019. Current characters in the Tonies family include well-known faces such as The Gruffalo, Stick Man, and Little Red Riding Hood.

Each Disney Tonie is packed full of songs from the classic films. The Lion King Tonie will run for approximately 30 minutes and include a story as well as classic songs such as I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and Hakuna Matata. The Jungle Book Tonie features famous sing-along songs The Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You.

Patric Faßbender, inventor of the Toniebox, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with this world-renowned brand; many of our fans have been requesting that their favourite Disney classics are brought to our platform and now we can grant that wish. This partnership with one of the most important international licensors shows us that we are on the right track.”

Further Disney titles will be added to the Tonies collection later this year, as well as a number of other licences and characters. The portfolio, which already combines a wide range of stories, music and knowledge, is constantly being extended with the number of Tonies available in the UK and Ireland set to grow from 45 to 65 by the end of this year.

The Jungle Book and The Lion King Tonies will be available for sale from 15th August from selected toy retailers and bookshops, and via the Tonies website.
