This year more than 100,000 schoolchildren entered the fourth National Schools Top Trumps Tournament, themed around ‘Digital Heroes’.

Twelve children are now left and a week on Saturday (29th June 2013) one of these dozen will win the grand final of the tournament, which will be played at Winning Moves’ brand new HQ in central London.

The winner will win a Top Trumps Tournament Trophy, plus games and an iPad Mini worth £150. All the finalists will also receive an iPad Mini.

For this year’s event, Top Trumps teamed up with Rockpack, a brand new social video-sharing network. A special ‘Digital Heroes pack of Top Trumps was sent to schools up and down the UK.

The pack was designed to help teach children about the ‘heroes’ who have inspired and created the technologies they use every day, as well as highlighting digital ‘ambassadors’ like Lady Ga Ga and Justin Bieber.

The packs also carry messages about staying safe online, as well as offering some key discussion points for the classroom about the boundless potential of the digital world and the challenges that have been opened up as a result.
