Topps launches official England collection

Published on: 2nd April 2014

The Match Attax Official England trading card game and Topps Official England World Cup stickers are hitting the shelves now.

They are the only sticker and card collectibles to feature the England team in the very latest official kit, and offers consumers the best value ever with packets of at least seven stickers costing just 25p.

Rod Pearson, marketing director at Topps, commented: “As an official partner of the England team, Topps is inviting football fans and their families up and down the land to get behind the nation’s squad. Topps’ official England trading card game and stickers are packed full with all the England players plus Brazil-bound superstars from all over the globe. The collectibles offer fans of all ages the opportunity to celebrate the excitement that this Summer’s sporting event will bring.”

Topps has also rolled back the price of its sticker packets to 25p for at least seven stickers. The last time the collectibles company retailed a tournament collection at 25p was for Euro 96; 18 years ago. Then, packets contained six stickers, whereas this year, there are at least seven players per packet. This year’s launch will also be 5p cheaper than its 1998 England World Cup Collection, making it the company’s best-value-ever collection.

Rod Pearson added: “This is great news for customers and a great opportunity for retailers; the 25p price-point will serve to engage more shoppers and make the collection more accessible, whilst our basket-spend data shows that people will be buying multiple packs – either two for 50p or 4 for £1, which will benefit retailers.”
