Toy industry sales in Britain increase by 5%

The categories showing the most growth include action figures and accessories, plush and building sets.

Latest figures from The NPD Group show that year-to-date (January to 6th December) toy industry sales in Britain have increased 4.8% versus the same time period last year.

Frédérique Tutt, global toy industry analyst with The NPD Group, commented: “2015 has been a strong year for the British toy market to date and the NPD group expects the year to finish up 5% after a similar increase in 2014. Branded and licensed toys with traditional play patterns have been the key drivers behind the market performance, with collectible toys topping the charts.”
